The role: Principal

£highly competitive / Manchester

With this appointment, a new and exciting phase of college leadership begins.

Governors have undertaken extensive reflection and preparation for this pivotal moment in the college’s life, and we are very much looking forward to embarking on the next stage of Loreto’s journey in the company of our new Principal.

We would like to meet candidates who feel ready to bring their particular combination of personal vocation, educational expertise and strategic ability to the service of a remarkable institution. Student flourishing must absolutely be at the heart of your philosophy, and we want to hear how you propose to develop the inclusive, caring approach which enables every single learner to thrive and succeed during their time at the college.

However, from those to whom much is given, much is expected; our scale and capacity require that we also play a leading role in supporting our local, regional and national partners to meet the challenges (and seize the opportunities) of a fast-changing educational landscape.  You will need to assure us that you understand and can fulfil the outward-facing aspects of the role, across our city and beyond.

Your career to date will have provided you with an impressive track record of senior educational leadership. While we expect that candidates will already have held one Principal post, we would welcome applications from experienced Vice Principals in comparable colleges or schools with substantial sixth forms, who can demonstrate the potential to grow into the role. Your ambition is important to us too.

We want to hear from truly rounded leaders: decisive, but with the ability always to learn from others; able to model resilient personal growth, but always recognising the importance of others’ support; rigorous about standards and ambition, while celebrating the efforts and contribution of every member of the Loreto family.

Visits are encouraged, and can be arranged through NavigateNDC; please contact Raymond Kelly or David Gooda on 01625 800862 in the first instance.

"I love the genuine adherence and faith to
mission, open access, trying to create equality of opportunity where students may have no previous experience of this. I like being in a faith community that genuinely respects and
embraces diversity in all its forms.”
